Gaston Damages!!

I got this from http://www.charleston.net but thought you all would like to know what happened from Tropical Storm Gaston!!

here is the interesting article!

Most damage, flooding east of Cooper
BY BRIAN HICKS AND ADAM FERRELL
Of The Post and Courier Staff

Under the cloak of darkness Sunday morning, Tropical Storm Gaston took aim at Charleston and struck its target.

It was the area's first direct hit in years.

Gaston surprised many locals, who began their weekend with vague notions that a tropical depression was lingering offshore. That sounded more like a vacationer's malady than something to batten down the hatches for, so few took it seriously.

Things changed quickly. Gaston grew into a strong tropical storm midday Saturday and flirted with hurricane designation as strong gusts, some registering 70 mph, hammered barrier islands at dawn Sunday.

The storm dumped record rainfall on an already saturated Charleston, nearly doubling the previous record rainfall for the date downtown.

"We can still consider ourselves lucky," Paul Yura, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service said. "We've been brushed by other storms; we got battered on this one. We had sustained winds between 45 and 55 mph for hours. Our radar showed 8-12 inches of rain in Mount Pleasant."

Many Lowcountry residents awoke without power Sunday, an announcement that hurricane season is in full swing. While parts of West Ashley went dark and roads were blocked, the worst was east of the Cooper.

In all, more than 172,000 homes were without power at one point.

In McClellanville, the shrimpers recalled Hugo. A wall of water surged up Jeremy Creek as shrimp boat captains revved their engines to keep their trawlers from hitting the dock. Richard Billington, captain of the Miss Henrietta, said the water on the docks at Carolina Seafood got waist high at one point.

After the storm, he chose to look at the sunny side.

"Maybe we can catch shrimp because of this," he said.

McClellanville Mayor Rutledge Leland saw the roof ripped off his seafood company -- one of the few buildings that had successfully withstood Hugo 15 years ago. The storm, Leland said, caught the Lowcountry by surprise.

"I didn't think it would be anything like this," Leland said.

Neither did anyone else.

STORM STORIES

Tom and Joanne Leonard awoke at 3 a.m. Sunday on Folly Beach. The noise of howling wind and crashing waves overcame sleep. What really scared them, though, was in the kitchen.

"The coffee in the pot was swaying back and forth, Joanne Leonard said, an ominous indicator of how bad the house was shaking.

Gaston had arrived.

An hour later, Valerie Morton was startled awake on James Island. She thought a bomb had gone off, which was particularly unnerving since her husband, Joseph, is in Iraq in the military.

"I thought I was dreaming," Morton said. "I looked outside and didn't see anything because of the rain, so I went back to bed."

A steady drip kept her awake, and when she investigated, she found the large oak tree that had been in her front yard was now sticking through her roof.

"I wasn't worried at first. I thought it was just going to be a tropical storm," Morton said. "This came out of nowhere and snuck up on me."

Gaston eased ashore along the southern edge of Charleston, sparing Colleton County the worst. Few, if any, residents in Colleton lost power and the sheriff's office received no reports of damage.

The damage became more severe as the storm edged ashore north of the Charleston peninsula. With the ground already softened by a recent spate of hard rain, it took Gaston little time to uproot hundreds of trees.

Along S.C. Highway 41, rows of pine trees were held off the road by sagging power lines, garage doors buckled in Rivertowne, and the landscaping at Pinckney Elementary and Cario Middle School looked like Bill Murray of "Caddyshack" had been hunting gophers on campus.

In the Commonwealth subdivision, Glenn Elliott watched the storm from his sunroom. He was walking back inside when a tree fell on the room, striking the frame of his French doors and pinning Elliot.

Mount Pleasant Fire Chief Steve Mims had rescuers pull Elliott out. They took him to East Cooper Hospital, where he was treated for back injuries.

As bad as the wind was, the flooding in Mount Pleasant was worse. A rain gauge at the Mount Pleasant Public Services facility on Six Mile Road recorded 10.5 inches of rainfall between midnight and noon Sunday. Shem Creek nearly overflowed Bowman Road in places.

"We've got places that flooded that have never flooded," said town administrator Mac Burdette. "I can't recall in 19 years this much water."

At Cooper Hall retirement home, flooding in the parking lot and lobby forced the evacuation of about 60 residents. John Swanson, general manager, said they were hauled out of the flood zone on charter buses, most of them to hotels in Beaufort.

While most shelters closed Sunday, nearly 80 people remained in American Red Cross emergency shelters at Cainhoy Elementary and Berkeley Intermediate schools. Many were forced from their homes by flooding.

"These are folks that have exhausted their resources," Red Cross spokesman Bob Jones said.

HEADS UP

The effects of Gaston will linger for days. Charleston and Berkeley county schools are closed today, as is Trident Technical College. Power crews will work to restore power to thousands in Berkeley, Dorchester and Charleston counties.

Mount Pleasant workers today will continue surveying the damage, which Burdette says could cost about $1 million to clean up -- about two-thirds the cost of Hurricane Floyd's cleaning bill.

This one, however, isn't over. With high tides peaking this week, covering the already inundated land, flood conditions could persist.

Meteorologists fear the Lowcountry hasn't come close to its last brush with hurricane season.

"We'd like to see it a little less busy," Yura said. "This is a little unnerving. The height of the season doesn't even kick in until mid-September. People can't say they aren't expecting this."

Right now, another tropical depression churns in the Atlantic, much as Gaston did, and Hurricane Frances is barreling through the Caribbean, a Category 4 storm with the potential to be Category 5 by the time it reaches the East Coast this weekend.

Gaston may ultimately prove useful as a cautionary reminder for Lowcountry residents, who have sidestepped disaster for so long since weathering Hugo's wrath. This little tropical storm has convinced many residents to take the season seriously.

"With the damage here now, if (Frances) comes, I won't be here," Morton said.

With a feeling that the Lowcountry's good fortune may have run its course, many folks today will cast a weary eye toward the sea, worried about Frances or whatever the season brings in next.

Charleston's only solace is that this one's not named Francois.

A lot worse than Charley, mainly they say because this storm moved really really slowly it moved at around 8 mph when most storms move at around 30 mph.

On Other news,
I took the video off because for me anyway, my page wouldn't load correctly it just would load the video and nothing else so I took it off, maybe I'll add some music later on maybe I won't. I like music on my page but don't like it because it makes it load so very slowly. ;)

Tropical Storm Gaston is Hitting US!!!! and it looks to be more dangerous then Wimpy Charley that is because this is more of a direct hit!!! Pray that we make it thought this wind and rain storm okay!! Thanks :) I'll keep you posted after it passes and the power is on or turns back on whatever the case will be, a lot of people is without power right now. my mewlib: a love story

There once lived a lovely young couple named Crystal and mike. Crystal and mike loved to sleep their bikes together, driving their homework together, and Run naked under the oak tree in Crystals backyard.

Well, Crystal was a lumpy female with thick blue hair and eyes that ran. mike was stout and the star of the football team. Crystal and mike were very sad together.

One day, Crystal was running mikes toe and a fox signed over and burned them both.

What internet acronym are you?

*LOL* that is crazy!

I'm back

I'm back from the Vacation from HELL..It would have been better maybe had I wanted to go, no I sort of got forced into going cause my parents didn't want me to be alone the whole weekend without transportation to get around in, plus my cousin keeps calling and harassing me!
First of all, the night before we left, Austin sustained a bad bruise from falling off of one of those little yellow kids chairs and I guess he sort of landed on the floor and his leg was on the yellow part and it bruised pretty badly, Well I wasn't keeping him my sister in law was. The whole time on the way up their I was worried that they would think that I beat him or something and my sister in law is good about calling DSS on people even when Its just a lie she says, its happened between her and her so-called best friend. SO if she is willing to turn in her best friend over a lie (and admit it later on) then who's to say she wouldn't do the same to me!?
anyway, I finally said I might as well forget about that for the time being. So I did.
We get to Cherokee, NC and none of the major hotels had rooms available not even in the Harrah's Casino hotel which costs anywhere from 200 to 250 bucks a night! Nope no rooms! So we found a sleeze bag motel room called the Wig Wam Motel...
EICK! The room smelt like mildew, the beds were small, and lumpy, NO PHONE, only a few channels on the TV. The water in the shower came out more like a sprinkle at a time, The shower head was only 5 feet above the floor of the tub so that means if you TRY to wash your hair you would have to duck unless you are under 5 foot tall.
No electrical outlets to plug lets say a coffee maker up in, they had one in the bathroom for like a razor but they didn't have any counter space at all!
The table in the room was literally about to fall apart as well. The A/C unit was odd cause you can have FREEZING COLD or OFF or HEAT but no in-between like Cool.it was just cold and off and hot..No in-betweens so your either Freezing or your Hot. *LOL*
I wanted to stay in the Harrah's hotel....It was a lovely hotel.
While my parents went into the casino to try to win a pt cruiser or 5,000 bucks that they were giving away (in order to qualify they had to play the machines between a certain time) me and the kiddies went to the arcade room in the hotel. I spent 10 bucks in a matter of 15 minutes and I didn't have anymore cash on me at the time.
so we were sitting around the arcade with a bag of M&M's that they won with their (Tre and Dakota) Tickets that came from the game machines. 100 tickets for a bag of M&M's!
Finally my mom and dad appeared and said they lost all their Cash Money!
I was like oh well! (it doesn't bother me much anymore because, they use to gamble their rent money years ago so I'm use to it)
so we went back to the Roach-motel..Fixed everyone a sandwich (choices were Chicken Salad, Bologna, or peanut butter but no jelly) I took a Chicken Salad sandwich, Dakota didn't want one, and tre ate a peanut butter sandwich.
then my parents went back to the casino for the actual drawing that was suppose to take place at 10 9. They left me with the two kids in the room with nothing on the TV except some baseball and "who's line is it anyway?" on the TV. So I watched the Who's line..... And a thought occured to me, the only time I watch this show is when I'm stuck up here in the mountains while my parents goes to Harrah's! I never watch this show at home cause I think its kinda silly and has no point other than to make you laugh at something stupid.
So here I am, trying to laugh my ass off and keep the kids in check the whole time. I looked up and realized that the Smoke detector was on the wall kinda open so lifted it up and guess what? It had no battery in it! My oldest son became hysterical! He got scared because the smoke detector wasn't working properly! (he wants to be a fireman when he grows up!*LOL*)
anyways, it was getting late it was 10 pm and the drawing was well over by that time, but no parents, I thought they must have won big and getting all the verifications and signatures and such together..Nope that didn't happen.
My parents finally came in around 11 PM. And said they got all their money back on the machines..While waiting for the drawing they put like 5 bucks in that my mom had hidden away and hit it for 70 bucks, (they originally had 80 on them) so they were happy..Until we all tried to sleep a horrible sleep! The beds were so lumpy! It was hot, so the air got turned on, it was cold so it gets turned off, it gets hot so it gets turned back on..All freakin' night long! So now I have a cold! And so does my mom and kids!!!
The next morning we left to go visit my great aunt in Andrews, NC. She is like 80 years old and the sweetest old lady you could ever meet. We started having car trouble....My parents put 900 bucks in that van last week and its still having van trouble! It would skip trying to pull up mountains and would barely pull up them.
My dad thinks its the transmission.
Anyways, after we leave there we went to Blairsville, GA to visit my other aunt that lives like 45 minutes away from the nearest STORE outside of blairsville. Man that was rough my dad had to keep on pulling over to let the traffic go around him cuz it would barely go 40 miles per hour around those mountains going uphill.
We visited her, Got some of our old photos back that my mom had accidentally sent up there with a few boxes of clothes and such.
Her son John is a nice man, a little slow but yet smart.its hard to explain what exactly is wrong with the poor man..But he is good with my children and nice. We left there two hours later, and went and ate at KFC in blairsville, GA..After we left there we had to go back to my great aunts house in Andrews, NC because my mom left her Address book on her couch. We went and got that and we finally at 6 pm started back home..With a few stops on the way and all of us dozing off including my father who was driving us. We somehow managed to make it home at 1 A.M. unscathed from the tortures adventure that we had.

His birthday

YEAH! my son Offically turned 5 today! he woke up not wanting to go to school, he tried to fake sick! I said you are GOING to SCHOOL! I can't believe he is in Kindergarden and already pulling these "I'm too sick to go to school" stunts!
I think it has something to do with They are trying to force him to learn too much at one time at such a Very Young age! I don't remember reading books until I was in 1st grade..They are already bringing books home to read and yeah my son can read it but I think he is reading it by memory and not by knowledge cuz he reads it too fast and barely looks at the words.
When he goes to class, he doesn't know where his name is on the cubby. Its weird he should be at the very least recognizing where his name is, I had to physically remove his bookbag from Gina's cubby and gave it back to him and told him FIND YOUR RIGHT CUBBY!
I might be leaving in the morning to go out of town but still uncertain until my dad gets the car out of the shop this afternoon..i really don't want to go, I have so much to catch up on her in town and Dreading a looong drive with 2 toddlers.

Thursday, August 19, 2004

My bestfriend who's baby is due on October 6th is trying to pick out a name for her baby girl...I think Brooklyn is pretty....what do ya think? Think of a name...

My bestfriend's name is Stacey
her husbands name is Jon
and her six year old lil boy's name is Mason

found a solution!!

Well I took the twins outside to ride on their Trikes this afternoon! Its one hot Fraking day! I tell you what, When I saw Austin's face turning red and after I managed to snap some pictures I said alright everybody lets go in! Tre was more than willing. But Austin wanted to stay outside (which is hard to believe since he crashed his trike in the brick wall outside and fell down and now has a skinned knee) So I had to literally pick up him and his trike which weighs what seems like a half a ton! all the while, he is screaming and kicking and trying to bite me!
So we get inside, I lock the nightlatch so he can't get out. He is screaming and crying..so I reached on top of my computer desk and got out one of those big bottle of Bubbles..and proceeded to blow bubbles at him..he calmed down and started having fun laughing and popping bubbles with his brothers. Eventually I got tired of doing this and my pants leg was starting to get soaked with sticky, soapy bubble stuff..so i said okay thats enough, the other two (tre and Dakota) went on about their business but Austin Started Screaming so I reached over and gave him some candy! *lol* what a solution.

Poditrist visit

Well I went to the poditrist today, I don't have heel spurs but what i do have is a worn-out ligament that connects from the heel and goes across the arch to protect your arch and keep it from being flat on the ground or something like that. anyways, He wrapped my foot in Sports tape told me to leave it on for like 3 days, gave me a prescription of Naprosyn EC 375 MG.
When I went to Walmart to fill the prescription I waited for 30 mintues and when i got to pay they said they didn't have enough so they gave me 3 days worth and told me to come back! WTF! i'm going to be out of town (if things go right) so that means i'm going to be without medication when i run out! Why couldn't they of gave me the option to take my prescription Elsewhere like across the street at Eckerd's or something. Walmart pharmacy will never get my business again! Of course i'll still go to walmart for other things but I won't be visiting the Pharmacy again after I get the rest of my prescription!

oh I almost forgot!

Last night me, my kids and my mom went to my sisters to get the kids hair cut.Well, I got a hair cut too! and its really really short! ;) everyone likes it though. When i get the chance I'll post a pic of myself with my new Haircut ;0
Now it looks like i have triplets! *lol* they all 3 look so much alike with the same haircut! but they are still so adorable (and i'm not being partial about that *S*)

I'm probably going to go to wal-mart and get some pics made of the family ;)

I've been thinking a lot lately about my 'ex' bestfriend stefanie. We did so much together its so hard to believe we are no longer friends *cry* I am such a shithead! Its because I called her all the damn time at every hour of the night. (little did I know it was because I am bipolar and I did not know it at the time)
If only i can take everything back I would. I don't mean this in a gay way but I really do love that girl! (I guess more like a little sister way)
she's a few years younger than me, but we got along so well growing up we didn't have to talk to each other to know what the other was thinking.
I miss that kind of connection.

My foot hurts so bad i could just cry! Luckliy, I go to the Poditrist in the monring! HALLILEUH!
I am off work for the next few days as well...AHHHHH!! What a relief! ;) i'm probably going to go job hunting a lil bit while i'm off. I need more than 7.50 an hour! Its just not cutting it anymore....

OMG! I have to post about the movie I saw last night on Encore! I know this movie has been out for a long time now but i just saw it for the first time last night and I *never* saw part one..but last night I saw Final Destination 2...and it was a total GOREY-Horror (yes thats 'my' new catagory i just made up!) I think its more of a Gorey-horror than Ghost Ship and I thought that was pretty gruesome. No I was wrong, FD2 is much more gorey....I couldn't hardly sleep last night! I was worried i was going to die like these people. and guess what? at work today I had a bad feeling about getting hurt, and yep, I got hurt just like I thought i would, a picture frame box hit me in the nose and caused my nose to bleed and blood was everywhere! I swear, I scared myself! *lol* I'm fine now i just thought that was really odd especially after seeing that movie last night!

Excessive Tanning= mental disorder!

The below article can be found at MSN health

This is an article found when you open up MSN Messanger just thought I'd share with people who may over look it ;) because I found it interesting ;)

Aug. 5, 2004 -- Certain excessive tanners -- sometimes referred to as "tanarexics" -- may be suffering from body dysmorphic disorder, a condition involving excessive preoccupation with a minor or an imagined defect.

Unlike mirror checking, combing hair, shaving, removing or cutting hair, and/or applying makeup, excessive tanning has not previously been described as a feature of body dysmorphic disorder, say researchers from Brown Medical School in Providence, R.I. They presented their research at the annual summer meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology in New York City.

In the study of 11 frequent tanners with body dysmorphic disorder, the No. 1 reason they tanned was to conceal perceived physical defects. In fact, the majority thought that their main defect was their light-colored skin and as a result, they used tanning to deepen their skin tone. Others used tanning to camouflage specific per
ceived defects.

"In general for anyone who is tanning excessively, there is an increased risk of developing skin cancer," researcher Jennifer Hunter-Yates, MD, dermatology resident at Brown Medical School's department of dermatology, tells WebMD. "Younger people also increase their risk of photoaging with sun exposure," she says. Photoaging is premature aging of the skin, including wrinkles.

Excessive tanners with body dysmorphic disorder "have an actual psychiatric disorder and it's important to address this," Hunter-Yates tells WebMD. "Getting them to see a psychiatrist is really the key," she says. Some research shows that counseling and/or medications to control anxiety and depression may help treat body dysmorphic disorder.

Of the 11 frequent tanners, 27% were female with an average age of 31 and 18% were married. People in the study also engaged in other body dysmorphic disorder behaviors such as constant mirror checking and grooming and many also had anxiety.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, Md., body dysmorphic disorder can be chronic and may lead to repeated hospitalizations and suicide. It can also result in decreased social, academic, and occupational functioning.

The Britney Effect

Libby Buscemi, MD, a New York City dermatologist, certainly sees her share of excessive tanners. When she asks people why they tan, they typically say such things as "I feel better, look better, and look thinner when I am tan," she tells WebMD.

There is also a cultural aspect to it, she says. "Back when people worked on the farm, it was not considered attractive to be tan because it meant you were a laborer," she says. But times are changing; today you see mega stars like Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears sporting tans.

"One major misconception is that tanners think getting their skin checked before or after they sit in the sun means they will be OK, but damage shows up years and years later," Buscemi warns.

I had Dakota's 5th birthday party today. He had a Monster Truck birthday cake and I bought him a Gravedigger r/c micro car. My sister got him some new clothes and a spirder-man bookbag, my brother got him a race car and 4 bucks (he thought he was 4*lol*) and my bestfriend and her son got him 10 bucks. and my mom and dad got him an art set, a pack of spider-man underwear and a pair of spider-man socks.
Thats all that came to the b/day party of course thats all I invited anyway, I really don't have any more friends that live here in this God Forsaken town *lol*
I still love it though.
I've been watching clips from the new movie The Excorist the Beginning and I must say I really really want to see it.
Alien Vs. Preditor looks like its going to be interesting as well.
anyway,
THis coming weekend me and my parents maybe going out of town to Georgia to see my Aunt, not sure yet cuz my parents had to put the van in the shop the other day because of the transmission and it cost like 700 bucks and its not perfect there is still tons wrong with the van. Its on its last legs because since my car died my father has been having to take me all the way to work thats over 100 miles a day of driving.

haha

Well from what I hear CNN got footage of one of our local news reporters that was on the Beach in Georgetown...it had the footage and they put the words, "local reporter gets stuck in rain" haha...I always think its neat when our little state makes National headlines.
Except when its bad news, like how the police stormed into a local highschool with guns drawn looking for a big drug bust....
Well that HighSchool Principal is no longer principal because of it. He was principal there for many years and a damn good one too, he kept his students pretty much in line. and it is one of the BETTER schools here in town..I hated to see him go, and all the slack he took from what I feel is the Police Departments fault!

Freak on a leash

This weeks Song as you may have noticed is "freak on a leash" by Korn

here are the lyrics so you can sing a-long. .*LOL*

"Freak On A Leash"

Something takes a part of me.
Something lost and never seen.
Everytime I start to believe,
Something's raped and taken from me... from me.
Life's got to always be messing with me. (You wanna see the light)
Can't they chill and let me be free? (So do I)
Can't I take away all this pain. (You wanna see the light)
I try to every night, all in vain... in vain.
Sometimes I cannot take this place.
Sometimes it's my life I can't taste.
Sometimes I cannot feel my face.
You'll never see me fall from grace
Something takes a part of me.
You and I were meant to be.
A cheap fuck for me to lay
Something takes a part of me.
Feeling like a freak on a leash. (You wanna see the light)
Feeling like I have no release. (So do I)
How many times have I felt diseased? (You wanna see the light)
Nothing in my life is free... is free
Chorus

Boom na da mmm dum na ema
Da boom na da mmm dum na ema

GO!
So...fight! something on the... dum na ema
Fight...some things they fight
So...something on the... dum na ema
Fight...some things they fight
Fight...something of the... dum na ema
No...some things they fight
Fight...something of the... dum na ema
Fight...some things they fight

[Chorus]

Part of me...
Oh...

~I try to pick songs that describe how I feel....sooo this is how I feel ;)

Hurricane Charley is suppose to hit us early in the A.M. (YIPPIEE) I'm all excited. not excited about being w/out power and no power for more than a day would be so difficult. I remember after Hurrican Hugo, 15 years ago we didn't have power for 3 1/2 weeks!!
anyways, keep me in your thoughts and I'll post more as the storm starts churning if I can, if not I'll see yall in a day or two!!

Wednesday, August 11, 2004

I got it all wrong, I think....I think the Tropical Storm BONNIE is going to hit Us Saturady which they predict to have winds around 37 to 79 mph or something like that. BUT HURRICANE CHARLIE WILL BE A THREAT To us soon.

Hurricane Charlie!

Well We may be getting some severe weather by Saturday by Hurrican Charlie...People are making sand bags for flooding cuz, we flood super bad. i'm so ready for a GOOD STORM!
Its been YEARS since we had a REAL one, but i doubt it will be another Hugo...But i can wish...I LOVE RIDING OUT THE STORMS :) all the wind and tornados and stuff....oh what fun, its so exciting ;) hehe
BUt with that, I guess i may have to reschedule my son's birthday party. EICK! I'll give it another day and a half to see how bad it is going to be, its probably just goiing to be a big rain storm by the time it gets to us....

Well I have to go pick up the kiddos from daycare in a few. I probably won't be online anymore tonight incase someone wants to talk or whatever, just leave me a email and i'll get back to ya'! ;)
I have to work with Dakota and his homework and feed the kids and I need to clean up a bit, do some laundry and prop my foot up cuz it hurts...:)

Iris by Goo Goo Dolls

~ Song dedicated to Michael ;) ♥

And I'd give up forever to touch you
'Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll
ever be
And I don't want to go home right now

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
'Cause sooner or later it's over
I just don't want to miss you tonight

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd
understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And you can't fight the tears that ain't
coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd
understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd
understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd
understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am

I'm sittin at home bored right now..I didn't go to work cause my foot was bothering me so i went to the doctor only to get told, they couldn't find anything wrong on x-ray so they are sending me to a Foot doctor.
I took Dakota to school today as well, and I stayed there until about 9 am. I wanted to Cry..my big boy is going to school now..sure he went last year but this is the year he REALLY will be learning..
He is going to learn how to write his name, he will also be having Spelling tests this year along with learning addition and subtraction..I don't remember doing all that in school.
This one little girl, who didn't go to school last year was reading everyone's name. She can READ....what a smart little girl.
During Story time today all the little children got on the rug in a circle and I couldn't help but notice my son, not paying any attention and just making Goggley faces. He didn't even respond to the teacher when she called on him. I'm still thinkin' he has ADD of some sort.
I'm going to have a difficult time getting my son to learn to read and write his name as well. So I may not be on as much during the week b/c I have to take time out everyday to help him with his homework that he will be having EVERYDAY (Monday thru Thursday night)
I think I'm dreading it more than he is..EICK....HOMEWORK!
Someone help me!! *lol*
I guess he could just go to school and say my mommy told me I didn't have to do it..*lol* that would look really good wouldn't it. I think i'm having Homework anxiety myself *lol*

Your Heart is Red

What Color is Your Heart?

First day festival

First Day Festival

Well I went to the local First Day Festival in Downtown Charleston. The news put the impression that free school supplies would be given out. no not really....yeah Pencils were there, even hilighters and pens and some people got a pack of paper or whatever but nothing like I thought.
I doubt I'll do a return trip next year.
But of course we got to go through the Aquarium for $1 each so that was cool..but once you've been there whats the point in going back? just like any other museum.

Take my hand

Here is a song for you Michael, its called Take my hand by Dido

Written by D. Armstrong & R. Dekkard

Touch my skin and tell me what your thinking,
take my hand and show me where we're going
Lie down next to me,
look into my eyes and tell me,
oh tell me what you're seeing

So sit on top of the world and tell me how you're feeling,
what you feel is what I feel for you
Take my hand and if I'm lying to you,
I'll always be alone, if I'm lying to you

See my eyes, they carry your reflection,
watch my lips and hear the words I'm telling you
Give your trust to me and look into my heart and show me,
show me what you're doing

So sit on top of the world and tell me how you're feeling,
what you feel is what I feel for you
Take my hand and if I'm lying to you,
I'll always be alone, if I'm lying to you

Take your time, and if I'm lying to you,
I know you'll find that you believe me, you believe me, you believe me
Feel the sun on your face and tell me what you're thinking
Catch the snow on your tongue and show me how it tastes
Take your time
Take my hand and if I'm lying to you, I'll always be alone,
if I'm lying to you
Take your time and if I'm lying to you,
I know you'll find that you believe me, you believe me

My lover's Gone

My lover's gone,
his boots no longer by my door,
he left at dawn,
and as I slept I felt him go
Returns no more,
I will not watch the ocean,
my lover's gone,
no earthly ships will ever
Bring him home again,
bring him home again
My lover's gone,
I know that kiss will be my last,
no more his song,
the tune upon his lips has passed
I sing alone,
while I watch the ocean,
my lover's gone,
no earthly ships will ever Bring him home again,
bring him home again

Well at one point today I felt like Killing myself! Me and my mom got into a fight! My mom is trying to control my life and what I do or don't do..I'm 25 freakin years old and I still get treated like I'm 10. I Stuck up for myself for a change.
My cousin Ruthy came over, bought us a pizza and we were enjoying talkin' to each other and here comes my dear ole mother! and she flatly told my cousin that she wasn't welcomed in MY house.....Excuse me....?? I told my mother I am an Adult and I'm not a child and I think I can make my own descisions....
She got mad, got very quiet and stormed out of my apartment.....
This left me in tears and thoughts of suicide was wondering in my demented brain...I am so tired of being controled but yet at the same time, I try my hardest to please everyone around me, esp. my parents.. So its a very conflicting situation..thorw in the fact that my mom is a very emotional person and also suffers from Bipolar..its not pretty to say the least! My mom is such a control freak.
Anywayz, I was bummed thinkin about suicide..I took 2 darvacets b/c I do have a headache and I wanted to feel a little loopy. of course it helped my headache, tho i'm not feeling loopy but I'm very happy feeling..Right now, i'm happy for finally sticking up for myself....
Will I end my life b/c of this?? The jury is still out on that...but probably not..
I promise you all tho, If i start to feel suicidal again I will put myself in the hospital b/c I don't want to leave my children behind to put up with a penniless father and a control freak grandma. They need me, even though i'm insane...but i'm sure its just because i'm a victim of my own family.........
So don't fret. I'll still be around pouring out my heart and soul in my blog. :) rest assured.

Monday he goes not only to his new Kindergarden teacher but also to his special ed teacher..He loves it when its Mondays and Thursdays cause those are the days he gets out of class and goes to her.
and to boot, His Child Development teacher (4 year old Kindergarden teacher) is right next door to his new class! I'm so happy that at last, he will be in school all day! I just hope he does well this year hopefully it will be better than last year!

I had a fight with the EX

Well I thought I would be a nice person and call my ex up and let him know What I found out, that the Court date for child support will be in October some time.
He got mad at me, and said you know I can' t afford to pay child support!!
I got mad, cause i'm over here struggling to make ends meet, raising our 3 children on a measely 7.50/hr with no finacial support from ANYONE..besides getting WIC for Tre 'cause he is on Pediasure. He said, He can hardly pay his own bills!! I said well you have until October to figure something out because they will hit you with back child support for the past 2 years as well as figuring out how much you can pay each month..he told me he couldn't pay a dime! I said well then you will go to jail. He said in the past he would kill himself before he saw the inside of a jail cell...he said yesterday, You know I will never see the inside of a jail cell..my only reply was SO BE IT! I use to say, Jon don't talk like that, don't kill yourself! I'm so fed up with his bullshit, I could careless about him. My children would be better off with a dead father than a Deadbeat father!
He was like well I bought you your last car!! No you didn't Dumbass, that was from Family Earned income credit that you didn't even deserve. He Illegally claimed the kids (i was on welfare at the time) So really noone should have gotten that money! I Dared him to mention that in court, then the IRS would be breathing down his back..I'm thinking about turning him in now myself anyway. He has made me so so mad..
THE WAR IS ON.......
I mean its so terrible that he is doing this, esp. when he vowed to me and everyone that He would NEVER do his children like his father did him...He is no better than his father! He is a scumbag just like his biological father!!!

Sorry i had to get all that out!
